14-position 5.00mm pitch plug for in-line termination
The 1-796640-4: This is a 14-position, single-level plug from the TE Buchanan series, on 0.197" (5.00mm) pitch. It's a free-hanging (in-line) female socket block that terminates solid or stranded wire via a screw-driven rising cage clamp.
The 15 A per-position rating at 300 V UL is the ceiling for a single circuit; derate for bundling or elevated ambient temperature as per the UL derating curve. The 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In) torque spec on the M3 screw is tight enough to hold the conductor without stripping the cage — a torque driver is recommended on site. Accepts 12-30 AWG (0.05-3mm²) wire with a strip length of 6-7.5mm. The rising cage clamp pulls the wire against the current bar — no ferrule required, but stranded wire should be twisted before insertion. Retention latches on the non-wire side and side-stacking features let multiple plugs gang together on a DIN rail or panel without extra hardware.
