The 1-84953-8 is an 18-position FPC connector on a 0.039" (1.00 mm) pitch, with top-side contacts and a slide-lock ZIF actuator. The right-angle SMT termination keeps the assembly low above the board at 0.101" (2.56 mm).

ZIF and slide lock: what they mean on the bench

Zero insertion force (ZIF) means the actuator lifts the contacts clear of the FPC pads during insertion — no scraping, no pad damage. The slide lock then clamps the contacts down onto the 0.30 mm-thick FPC, holding it in place without a secondary latch.
