0.025" Square Post – the footprint anchor
The 1-928776-6: This is a single-post pin from the AMPMODU Mod II series, designed as a press-fit terminal for a 0.063" (1.60 mm) thick PCB. The pin measures 0.025" (0.64 mm) square both above and below the flange, so the same dimension governs the hole in the board and the mating receptacle. The overall length is 0.661" (16.80 mm). The interference fit holds it mechanically and electrically, which makes it a good fit for backplane or high-density boards where wave solder is undesirable.
Tin finish at 98.4 µinch – more than flash
The contact finish is tin at 98.4 µinch (2.50 µm) – well above the typical 40-80 µinch flash. This thickness gives better corrosion resistance in storage and more forgiving insertion cycles during press-fit assembly. The base metal is phosphor bronze, a standard spring alloy that holds the interference force over time. Non-insulated body means the pin is bare metal from tip to tail – no plastic shroud, no keying. That keeps the profile low and the cost down, but it also means the pin carries whatever voltage is on the net, so clearance to adjacent traces matters.
