The housing is sealed, which makes it a candidate for engine compartments, exposed chassis runs, or anywhere moisture and road grime are a concern. The black glass-filled PBT body handles the underhood temperature range typical of automotive-grade connectors.
Sealing and Environment
For a harness that runs along a frame rail or into a headlamp bucket, that seal is the difference between a connector that lasts and one that corrodes open.
The housing has a secondary lock (TPA) that goes over the back to hold the terminals in place. The mating half is a Junior Power Timer plug housing with male terminals; the two housings latch together with the integral locking ramp. Because this is a sealed system, the wire seal and cavity plug must be present on every position to maintain the IP rating.
