The TE Connectivity 102398-7 is an 18-position, dual-row IDC receptacle from the AMPMODU MT series. It terminates 22-26 AWG discrete or ribbon cable with a mass-termination IDC contact — no wire stripping, no crimping. The black housing is closed-end, so the cable stops at the back of the connector with no exposed contacts.
Termination and Wiring — What the IDC Means on the Bench
No individual wire prep — just a straight cable cut. The 22-26 AWG range covers standard ribbon cable gauges; 24 AWG ribbon is the most common fit.
Mating Half — What It Plugs Into
The free-hanging (in-line) mount means it is used as a cable-end connector, not a board-mounted one.
The difference: the 102398-7 carries 18 positions, while the 1-226733-4 carries 17 positions. The 1-226733-4 also adds a detent lock feature for additional retention.
