What This Connector Is and Where It Fits
The TE Connectivity AMPMODU MTE 103956-1 is a 2-position female receptacle designed for discrete wire harnesses. It terminates 22-26 AWG wire via IDC (insulation displacement) — no crimp tool needed, the wire is pressed into the slot and the insulation is cut by the contact. This is the wire-side half of a wire-to-board interconnect; it mates with a male pin header of the same AMPMODU MTE series. The 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch matches the legacy 0.100-inch header grid, common in prototyping, control panels, and low-density signal or power distribution.
Termination and Wiring
IDC termination accepts 22-26 AWG discrete wire. The wire is inserted into the slot and the IDC contact pierces the insulation to make connection — no stripping or crimping required. The latch lock on the housing provides positive retention once mated, resisting vibration and accidental disconnection in field-service or mobile equipment. The single-row, 2-position layout keeps the assembly compact for inline splices or low-channel-count connections.
