Product details

2-Position IDC Receptacle for Discrete or Ribbon Cable

The TE AMPMODU MTE 103957-1 is a 2-position IDC receptacle designed for terminating 22-26 AWG discrete wire or ribbon cable without crimping. The latch lock snaps onto the mating header and holds under vibration, which saves the cost of a screw-lock or secondary retention clip. A closed-end feature blocks the last cavity, preventing a 3-position header from being inserted into this 2-position housing.

The wire gauge range (22-26 AWG) is fixed by the slot geometry — use stranded or solid wire within that range, but don't force 28 AWG or 20 AWG through the slot. The closed-end feature means the last position is physically blocked, so a 3-position header won't seat fully into this 2-position receptacle. That's a deliberate keying choice for applications where a mis-match could short a circuit.
