IDC Receptacle for Ribbon or Discrete Wire
The 103957-8: The pitch has to match the ribbon — at 0.100", this connector lands on every conductor of standard rainbow ribbon cable without slicing between them. The free-hanging (in-line) mount means it terminates the cable end and plugs into a board-mounted header — no panel cutout needed.
Position Count and Wire Range
Nine positions in a single row — one conductor per position, so a 9-conductor ribbon or nine discrete wires. The IDC termination accepts 22-26 AWG wire, which covers the typical signal and low-power wire gauges used in ribbon cable assemblies. For discrete wire, strip and place each conductor into the slot before the press; for ribbon, the whole cable mass-terminates in one stroke.
The latch lock engages audibly and provides positive retention; it's the same lock used across the MTE series, so a 9-position receptacle mates with a 9-position header. No secondary lock or TPA required.
