This connector terminates to 28 AWG ribbon cable only — the IDC slot dimensions are tuned for that wire gauge. The IDC process punches through the insulation and seats each conductor into a bifurcated beam in one press stroke; no wire stripping, no crimp die. The 0.050" pitch and 0.050" row spacing match standard 1.27 mm ribbon cable, so the cable lays into the connector body without fan-out. A hand press or arbor press tool seats the cover; the latch lock then holds the assembly closed.
The 104892-3 mates with the matching AMPMODU 50/50 Grid pin header — a 30-position, dual-row, 0.050" pitch header with latch-compatible ears.
