Product details

SMA Plug for RG-405 Semi-Rigid Coax

It's a threaded, free-hanging (in-line) connector with a gold-plated stainless steel body and a PTFE dielectric. The 50 Ohm impedance and 18 GHz maximum frequency rating make it suitable for RF and microwave signal paths up through Ku-band. The center contact is beryllium copper with gold plating, and both the shield and contact terminate via solder.

This plug is built for RG-405 (.085" semi-rigid) cable — the most common hard-line coax for module-to-module interconnects in RF assemblies. No crimp tool needed; a soldering iron and a bit of practice is all it takes to terminate on site.

Mating and Mechanical Life

Threaded coupling (per the SMA interface standard) gives a positive mechanical lock — no vibration loosening. Rated for 500 mating cycles, which is solid for a connector that gets reconnected during bench testing or field service. The gold body and gold-plated center contact resist corrosion across those cycles.

Environmental Range

The PTFE dielectric holds stable impedance across that temperature swing — no dielectric constant drift to shift the 50 Ohm line.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 1050547-1 fit RG-405 cable?

Yes, it's designed specifically for RG-405 (.085" semi-rigid) coax. The shield and center conductor both terminate via solder.
