It terminates via IDC and mounts to a panel with a toolless panel lock feature — no additional hardware or tools required for installation. The straight orientation and unshielded body suit it for indoor structured cabling and equipment patch panels where the cable entry is perpendicular to the panel face.
Cat5e Rating and Compatibility
Rated Cat5e, this jack supports 100 MHz signaling and meets the crosstalk and return-loss requirements for 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) over four-pair twisted-pair cabling. It is not rated for Cat6 (250 MHz) or higher categories — the unshielded construction and IDC termination are optimised for the Cat5e channel budget.
For new designs, select a current-production Cat5e or Cat6 RJ45 jack from the same or equivalent series.
Installation and Termination
The toolless panel lock allows the jack to be snapped into a panel cutout without screws or clips — the user-selectable tab direction accommodates different cable exit orientations. IDC termination accepts solid or stranded twisted-pair conductors; no soldering or special tooling is required beyond an IDC punch-down tool. The jack does not contain an LED indicator.
