Board-to-Board Mezzanine Connector for IEEE 1386 / PMC Cards
The TE Connectivity 120524-1 is a 64-position receptacle from the Free Height (FH) series, designed to the IEEE 1386 / PMC standard for mezzanine card interconnects. The 0.039" (1.00mm) pitch and dual-row layout keep the footprint compact while routing 64 circuits between a baseboard and a daughtercard. The outer shroud contacts provide initial alignment and shield the signal pins during engagement.
Stack Height Options and Board Layout Fit
This receptacle supports two mated stacking heights: 14mm and 15mm, depending on the mating header height. The 0.408" (10.37mm) height above board leaves room for component keep-outs on the mezzanine card underside. The board guide feature assists alignment during blind mating in a card cage — a detail that saves bent pins when the card is slid into a guide rail.
Surface Mount Termination and Assembly
Surface mount termination suits automated pick-and-place assembly. The Tape & Reel packaging (also available as Cut Tape) feeds directly into the placement machine. No through-hole soldering step — the SMT pads are reflowed alongside the rest of the board. The board guide feature doubles as a pick-and-place vacuum pick-up target for the nozzle.
