UPM Blade Power Header for Backplane Distribution
The TE Connectivity 120958-2 is an 8-position header from the UPM (Universal Power Modules) series, designed as a blade power connector for backplane applications. It uses press-fit termination — no soldering required, which keeps assembly clean and makes field rework straightforward. The single-row, right-angle orientation mounts at the board edge, routing power perpendicular to the PCB plane. Rated 250V with a UL94 V-0 housing, it carries 8 power contacts loaded in all positions, with gold or gold-palladium plating on the mating interface.
Press-Fit Assembly and Operating Range
Press-fit termination means the compliant pin cold-welds into the plated through-hole — no thermal stress on the board, and the joint is gas-tight. The operating temperature spans -55°C to 125°C, which covers industrial cabinet and outdoor telecom enclosures. A built-in board guide aligns the header during insertion, taking shear off the signal pins. The gray housing is standard for the UPM series, and the part ships in tube packaging.
