MMCX Plug for RG-178/196 — 50 Ohm, 6 GHz, Right-Angle In-Line
It's a 50 Ohm connector rated to 6 GHz, with a snap-on fastening for quick mating in tight spaces. The kit includes the connector body, an end cap, and a ferrule, all in one bulk package.
The 50 Ohm impedance and 6 GHz max frequency cover most common RF bands — Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, GPS — but not mmWave. The gold-plated center contact keeps resistance low and resists corrosion over those cycles. The solder center pin and crimp shield termination are standard field-practice: solder the center conductor, crimp the braid with the ferrule.
This plug is specifically designed for RG-178 cable — the dimensions and ferrule size match those cable diameters. If you're using a different coax, the ferrule won't crimp properly and the impedance match will drift.
If you're designing a new assembly, look at current MMCX plugs from TE or other manufacturers that match the 50 Ohm, 6 GHz, RG-178/196 spec.
