Plating choice across the series
The 1418884-3 carries silver mating contacts; the same-series 1418884-1 uses tin-plated contacts for the same 16 AWG wire gauge. Tin contacts suit lower-cost, lower-cycle-count applications, while silver handles sustained current and thermal cycling better. For 18-20 AWG builds, the 1241380-3 (silver) and 1241380-1 (tin) provide the same plating choice at a smaller wire size.
