Single-Position Housing for Field-Configurable Power Connections
The TE Connectivity 1445715-7 is a single-position, non-gendered housing from the Power Series 75 family. It accepts a non-gendered crimp contact and uses spring retention to hold the contact in place. The housing is free-hanging (in-line) and intended for wire-to-wire power interconnects where you need to build a custom-position-count harness by stacking individual housings together. Rated for crimp termination, the housing itself does not include contacts — you order the matching non-gendered crimp terminals separately. The black polycarbonate (PC) insulation body is rated ROHS3 compliant.
Stackable Design for Multi-Position Harnesses
The key differentiator in this housing is the stackable feature. Each 1-position housing can be ganged side-by-side with identical housings to create a multi-position connector assembly. This is a field-configurable approach — you add or remove positions without changing the base part number. The single-row format keeps the assembly narrow, and the spring retention means no tools are needed to seat or remove the contact after crimping.
Mating and Contact Compatibility
Because the housing is non-gendered, it mates with another identical 1445715-7 housing — you use the same part on both sides of the connection. The spring retention feature locks the crimped contact into the housing; a small tool depresses the spring to release the contact for service. The mating pair is held together by the spring retention of the contacts themselves, not by an external latch or screw. The matching crimp contacts for the Power Series 75 are ordered separately — the housing listing explicitly notes contacts are not included. Use TE's non-gendered Power Series 75 crimp terminals sized for your wire gauge.
