Stackable Design for Multi-Position Harnesses
The key differentiator in this housing is the stackable feature. Each 1-position housing can be ganged side-by-side with identical housings to create a multi-position connector assembly. This is a field-configurable approach — you add or remove positions without changing the base part number. The single-row format keeps the assembly narrow, and the spring retention means no tools are needed to seat or remove the contact after crimping.
Because the housing is non-gendered, it mates with another identical 1445715-7 housing — you use the same part on both sides of the connection. The spring retention feature locks the crimped contact into the housing; a small tool depresses the spring to release the contact for service. The mating pair is held together by the spring retention of the contacts themselves, not by an external latch or screw. Use TE's non-gendered Power Series 75 crimp terminals sized for your wire gauge.
