Six-Position Receptacle Housing for Wire Harness Builds
This housing ships without contacts. The housing accepts crimp contacts terminated to the wire before insertion — standard practice for field-serviceable harnesses where individual contact replacement is preferred over scrapping a molded assembly.
Mating Half and Polarization
The 1456985-4 mates with a 6-position, 0.100" pitch male header (plug) with a latch lock. The latch holder on this receptacle engages the mating header's locking ramp for positive retention. The single-row, free-hanging design means the harness side is the receptacle; the header typically mounts to a PCB or panel. The CPA feature adds a visual and tactile confirmation that the connector pair is fully seated — useful in blind-mate or high-vibration installations where partial engagement is a common failure mode.
