4-Position PCB Terminal Block, 5.08 mm Pitch, Screw Clamp
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 1546073-4 is a 4-position, single-level PCB terminal block with a 5.08 mm pitch, designed for wire-to-board termination in power distribution and control panel applications. It uses a screw-type rising cage clamp mechanism to secure the conductor, accepting wire from 12 AWG down to 30 AWG. Rated 17.5 A at 300 V, this block handles moderate power loads typical of industrial control cabinets, HVAC panels, and lighting ballasts.
Wire termination uses a rising cage clamp — turning the M3 screw (torque to 0.79 Nm / 7.0 Lb-In) draws a brass, nickel-plated clamp up against the conductor, trapping it against the current bar. The clamp material is brass with nickel plating; the screw is also brass, nickel-plated. The contact itself is brass with tin plating, suited for the moderate cycle count of a field-wired terminal block. The 12-30 AWG range means this single block can terminate a 12 AWG power feed or a 30 AWG sensor signal, reducing the number of different terminal blocks needed on a BOM.
Ganging and Layout
Side interlocking features allow multiple 1546073-4 blocks to be snapped together into a continuous strip without a separate mounting rail. This is useful when the circuit count exceeds 4 positions — just order additional blocks and interlock them side-by-side. Each block is a single level, so a 4-position block occupies one row of PCB real estate.
