Terminal Block for PCB Mount — 7 Positions, Rising Cage Clamp
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 1546073-7 is a 7-position single-level terminal block designed for through-hole PCB mounting. It uses a screw-driven rising cage clamp to terminate 12-30 AWG wire, with the clamp and screw both brass-nickel plated for corrosion resistance. The 5.08 mm pitch gives enough spacing for the 300 V rating and 17.5 A per position without crowding adjacent terminals on the board.
Wiring and Torque — Setting the Screw Correctly
The M3 screw is torqued to 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In) — overtightening strips the brass threads in the PA66 housing. The rising cage clamp lifts to trap the conductor against the contact plate; strip length should match the cage depth for full contact area. The vertical wire entry mates the conductor perpendicular to the board plane, which suits enclosures where wires enter from above.
