Wire termination is a rising cage clamp: turning the M1.6 screw (torque to 0.2 Nm / 1.7 Lb-In) lifts a nickel-plated brass clamp plate that traps the stripped conductor against the tin-plated brass contact pad. The rising cage pulls the wire into the clamp pocket rather than pushing it sideways, which keeps the conductor centred and reduces the chance of strand fan-out. The clamp and screw materials — brass with nickel plating for the clamp, steel/stainless for the screw — resist corrosion in a humid cabinet environment. Because the wire enters parallel to the PCB (horizontal orientation), the block is best suited for board-edge termination where the harness runs along the board plane. For a perpendicular wire exit, you would need a vertical-entry variant in the same series.
