Board-to-Board Mezzanine Receptacle for Tight-Pitch Stacking
The TE Connectivity 1565357-9 is a 20-position receptacle from the Fine Mate series, designed for parallel board-to-board stacking at a 0.020" (0.50mm) pitch. Gold contact finish protects the mating interface through repeated connect/disconnect cycles in field-serviceable assemblies. The mated stacking height is set by the mating plug, not this receptacle: the 1565357-9 supports four heights — 4mm, 4.5mm, 5.5mm, and 6mm — giving the board designer a single receptacle BOM entry that works across multiple board-spacing builds.
That routing density is the main constraint; the current per contact is inherently limited by the narrow beam geometry, so this receptacle is suited for signal-level duty (GPIO, differential pairs, low-speed data) rather than power distribution. The four stacking heights (4mm, 4.5mm, 5.5mm, 6mm) give you board-spacing flexibility from a single receptacle part — you pick the height by selecting the mating plug, not by changing this BOM line. The solder retention features are a practical reliability anchor: they prevent the connector from lifting off the pads during reflow or from shear forces when the mated boards are handled. Tape & Reel packaging is standard for automated pick-and-place assembly.
