What This Pin Terminal Does in the Harness
This pin accepts 20-24 AWG stranded or solid wire. The crimp termination — done with the correct TE tooling — creates a gas-tight connection between the wire strands and the brass body.
Active lifecycle status — this terminal is still in regular production with no last-time-buy notice. No official cross-reference or replacement has been issued by TE for this order code.
Housing Compatibility and Mating
The 163086-1 pin mates into any Multimate III+ receptacle housing that accepts stamped pin contacts — typically the corresponding cavity position in a 2- or 3-row housing. The crimp barrel dimensions match the standard Multimate III+ cavity geometry. Before building the harness, verify the housing part number accepts stamped (not machined) contacts; some housings are keyed for one type only.
