10-Position DIP IDC Header for Ribbon Cable
The blue housing is keyed by the DIP footprint itself, so orientation is unambiguous during board assembly.
Board-Side Pitch and Footprint Fit
The through-hole mounting gives a solder joint that handles the mechanical strain from the ribbon cable better than a surface-mount alternative would. The 0.050" (1.27mm) cable pitch matches standard 10-conductor grey ribbon cable — the IDC termination pierces the insulation and makes contact in one press operation, which keeps assembly time low on a harness build.
Position Count vs the 16-Position Sibling
The 1658525-6 carries 10 positions, while the same-series 1-216791-6 carries 16 positions at the same 0.100" (2.54mm) board-side pitch. Both are dual-row DIP headers with IDC termination and tin contacts. The 1-216791-6 also uses a press-fit mounting option, whereas the 1658525-6 is through-hole only.
