Stamped Socket Contact for HDP-20 D-Sub Connectors
The stamped construction keeps per-contact cost down for production harnesses where the mating cycle count stays within the flash gold capability. The contact accepts 20-24 AWG stranded wire and terminates with a standard crimp tool and die set for the HDP-20 family.
The 20-24 AWG wire range covers the typical signal and low-power circuits found in D-sub harnesses. The crimp barrel is designed for stranded wire only — solid or ferruled conductors will not compress properly in the stamped barrel. Use the TE-certified hand crimp tool or a pneumatic applicator from the HDP-20 tooling family to get the specified pull-force and avoid contact push-out during housing insertion.
Flash gold is thinner than the gold plating found on high-cycle or harsh-environment contacts, so this contact suits moderate-duty signal applications inside controlled enclosures.
