It uses gold-plated phosphor bronze contacts rated at 1.25A per circuit — a signal-level rating that keeps the connector in the data and control domain, not power distribution. The 2-row layout in shell size DA (2) mates with standard DB-15 receptacles, so the footprint and panel cutout follow the D-Sub convention.

No stripping or crimping; the termination is simultaneous across all 15 positions, which saves assembly time on multi-conductor cables but requires the ribbon to be aligned to the connector's pitch. The feed-through feature lets signals pass through the connector body, useful for daisy-chaining in a backplane or panel harness.
