The TE Connectivity AMP-Latch 1658620-2 is a 14-position IDC receptacle designed for mass-termination to 26-28 AWG ribbon cable. The feed-through feature lets the ribbon pass straight through the connector body, which simplifies daisy-chain routing in a harness.
The IDC termination punches through the insulation without stripping — the press fixture must align the ribbon conductors with the fork contacts exactly. The 26-28 AWG wire gauge range covers the most common ribbon cable gauges; the dual-row layout at 0.100" (2.54mm) row spacing keeps the overall width manageable for tight enclosures. Strain relief is not built into the connector body itself — plan for an external strain-relief clamp or cable tie if the assembly sees vibration or repeated flexing.
