It uses a shell size 5 (DD, D) layout with three rows, giving you the pin count for a dense I/O interface in a standard D-Sub footprint. The shell is steel with a tin-plated finish (200 µin / 5.08 µm thickness) and includes grounding indents that bleed shield current to the mating shell before it reaches the signal contacts — a practical detail for EMI management in noisy environments. The dielectric is glass-filled nylon (PA), black in colour. You order the crimp male contacts separately, then insert and retain them into the housing cavities. The flange is unthreaded, meaning there are no integral jackscrews; if your application needs screw locking, you add the hardware separately.
For the crimp contacts, the AMPLIMITE HDP-20 series uses standard D-Sub crimp contacts. The male contacts are typically TE part numbers 1-66506-0 (size 20, 20-24 AWG) or 66569-3 (size 20, 20-24 AWG). Confirm the wire gauge and contact plating (tin vs. gold) match your signal current and mating cycle requirements.
