Product details

Mini DIN 8-Pin Receptacle — the board-mounted half for shielded AV connections

The 8-position Mini DIN format is a standard pinout for several legacy and current AV interfaces, including some S-Video implementations and multi-channel audio breakouts.

Board lock keeps the connector planted through wave solder and cable strain

Two board-lock features on the shell anchor the receptacle to the PCB during wave soldering and provide mechanical retention against cable pull. Without them, the right-angle solder joints take the full bending load from a stiff AV cable — the board locks divert that shear into the PCB holes.

Push-pull mating with keyed orientation — no cross-threading, but no vibration lock

The push-pull fastening type means you seat it by hand and it clicks home — no threaded coupling to tighten. That makes it fast for field connections, but a half-turn loose isn't the failure mode here; the risk is accidental disconnection if the cable gets snagged. The keyed orientation prevents inserting the plug rotated 180°, which matters when pin 1 carries a different signal than pin 8.

It ships in Tube packaging.
