It accepts male crimp contacts and mates with the standard 50-position receptacle housing (shell size 5, DD layout). The housing comes as a bare shell — contacts are ordered separately, and the spec line makes that explicit: Contacts Not Included. Three rows of cavities give you the full 50-position count in a compact D-Sub footprint, with the steel shell providing EMI shielding when grounded through the mounting flange.
Free hanging in-line mount — no PCB footprint needed. The housing has unthreaded flange holes for panel-mounting with screws or rivets. Crimp the male contacts onto 20-28 AWG wire (typical for the HDP-20 series), insert them into the numbered cavities until the retention tangs lock, then load the housing into the backshell or panel cutout. The shell size 5 (DD) layout is the standard 50-position D-Sub footprint, so the mating receptacle is a 50-position female housing with the same shell size.
Materials and environment
Black glass-filled nylon housing rated -55°C to 105°C. The steel shell with tin plating gives a ground path and resists corrosion in indoor industrial environments. RoHS3 compliant. The housing is not sealed — use a backshell with gasket if the assembly needs IP protection.
