Through-Board Terminal for Wire-to-Board Termination
The TE Connectivity 170072-1 is a through-board terminal from the Amp-In series, designed for wire-to-board termination where the wire is pressed through a plated hole in the PCB rather than soldered or crimped into a housing. It accepts 20-24 AWG wire and is finished in tin-plated brass, a cost-effective contact surface for applications that do not require frequent mating cycles. The terminal fits a PCB hole diameter of 0.071" to 0.075" (1.80 mm to 1.91 mm) and has an overall length of 0.409" (10.39 mm). This is a press-fit style terminal — the wire is inserted through the board and the terminal body holds it in the plated through-hole, making it a solderless interconnect for low-to-moderate current signal or power distribution on a PCB.
Wire Gauge and PCB Hole Fit
The 20-24 AWG wire range is the primary fit check. The hole diameter spec of 0.071" to 0.075" (1.80 mm to 1.91 mm) tells the PCB fabricator what finished hole size to drill and plate.
