Wire Range and Crimp Fit
The 22-26 AWG acceptance is the single most important spec for the harness builder. A 22 AWG wire fills the crimp barrel with enough conductor cross-section to carry the rated current, while 26 AWG fits the same barrel for signal-level circuits. The stamped contact geometry means the crimp height is set by the applicator die, not the wire — section a sample and check the strand capture against the TE application tooling spec for this series.
RoHS Compliance and Packaging
The 170359-4 is RoHS compliant. It ships in Tape & Reel packaging (also available as Cut Tape), which feeds directly into automated crimping machines. The reel format is standard for high-volume harness assembly lines.
