Selection Mistake This Contact Avoids
The 170363-4 is a stamped pin contact for the TE Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK series. The most common error is pairing this pin with a wire outside its 22-26 AWG range — the crimp barrel won't grip a 20 AWG conductor, and an 18 AWG won't seat in the housing cavity.
The 22-26 AWG range is the only wire size this crimp barrel accepts. Stamped phosphor bronze construction keeps the contact cost low, but the trade-off is that the crimp force window is narrow — too small a wire and the barrel won't deform enough to hold; too large and it won't close. Use the TE-recommended crimp tooling for this series to get the correct conductor and insulation crimp height.
