Shielded RJ45 Jack for Cat3 Signal Paths
It is the right-angle, through-hole solder variant from the 1734324 base series, with the tab facing down for standard PCB edge mounting. The integrated green and yellow LEDs provide link and activity indication without an external board-level component, saving placement cost on the assembly line.
This jack carries a Cat3 rating, which limits its usable frequency range to 16 MHz. That makes it a fit for 10BASE-T Ethernet and voice-grade telephony, but not for 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet) or any protocol requiring Cat5e or higher performance.
Shielded, Right-Angle, Through-Hole — Board Fit Details
Through-hole solder termination gives the jack a mechanical anchor that resists the lever force from a stiff Ethernet cable better than an SMT part would.
