Shielded RJ45 Jack with Integrated Status LEDs
It carries a Cat3 rating, which limits its signal bandwidth to 16 MHz — suitable for 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX Ethernet, but not for Gigabit or higher-speed protocols that require Cat5e or better. The jack includes green and yellow LED indicators for link and activity status, a common feature for panel-mount Ethernet jacks that saves the cost of separate indicator components. The shielded housing helps contain EMI emissions and protect the signal path in electrically noisy environments like factory floors or telecom racks.
Contact Plating and Mating Reliability
Contacts are phosphor bronze with 50.0 µ" (1.27 µm) gold plating over the mating surface. The housing is glass-filled PA46 (Nylon 4/6), which handles the reflow temperatures of lead-free soldering without distortion.
