It carries a Cat3 rating, which means it is specified for 10/100BASE-T Ethernet applications where the channel bandwidth stays within 16 MHz — not for Gigabit or higher-speed protocols that require Cat5e or Cat6 performance. The single-row, single-port housing is moulded from glass-filled PA46 (Nylon 4/6), giving it a high continuous-use temperature tolerance suitable for reflow soldering processes. A green-yellow LED is integrated into the body for link/activity indication, saving a separate panel indicator component.
The Cat3 performance classification limits this jack to applications operating up to 16 MHz — sufficient for 10BASE-T and 100BASE-T4 Ethernet, digital subscriber line (DSL), and analog voice (POTS) signals. For any application specifying Cat5e or higher, select a jack with that explicit rating.
