What this 8-position ZIF connector fits
At 0.50 mm pitch with 8 circuits, this connector occupies a narrow footprint on the PCB — the 4.15 mm height above board keeps the assembly low-profile for tight enclosures. The gold flash contact finish (thin gold over nickel) provides adequate corrosion protection for moderate mating cycles in indoor equipment; for high-cycle or harsh environments, a thicker gold plating would be specified.
The ZIF mechanism with slide lock means no insertion force on the cable — the actuator opens the contacts, the cable slides in, and the lock clamps down. This reduces wear on both cable and connector during assembly.
