40-Position Right-Angle D-Sub, Shielded
The TE 1761028-2 is a 40-position D-sub receptacle from the AMPLIMITE.050 III series, designed for high-density signal interconnects where board space is tight. It packs 40 female sockets across two rows on a 0.050-inch pitch with 0.100-inch row spacing — roughly double the density of a standard 0.108-inch pitch D-sub.
Board Locks and EMI Shell
The steel shell with nickel plating provides the ground return path and EMI containment typical of a shielded D-sub — the shell mates with the cable-side backshell to bleed shield current before it reaches the signal pins. Board locks on the mounting flanges anchor the connector through wave solder and resist shear from cable strain or vibration. The housing/shell flange includes 2-56 threaded inserts and latchblocks for mating with the corresponding plug's slide-lock or screw-lock hardware.
