5-Position PCB Terminal Block with Rising Cage Clamp
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 1776113-5 is a 5-position, single-level PCB terminal block on a 3.81 mm pitch. It terminates wires from 16 AWG down to 28 AWG using a screw-actuated rising cage clamp — the clamp rises to trap the conductor against the current bar, giving a gas-tight connection that resists loosening under thermal cycling. Rated 12 A per circuit at 150 V, it suits control cabinet I/O, building automation panels, and instrumentation where a compact, field-serviceable wire termination is needed. The black polyamide housing carries a -40°C to 110°C operating range, and the contacts are tin-plated copper alloy — adequate for the rated current in dry indoor environments.
Wire Sizing and Termination
The 16-28 AWG wire range covers most solid and stranded signal and low-power conductors. The rising cage clamp accepts stripped wire directly — no ferrule required, though a ferrule helps with fine-stranded 28 AWG. The screw is a copper alloy with nickel plating, so it resists corrosion in humid cabinet environments.
At 3.81 mm pitch, the 5 positions occupy the board edge. The through-hole mounting gives a robust solder joint that handles the mechanical strain of screw termination.
