8-Position, 5.00 mm Pitch, Screwless Push-In Spring Termination
It uses a screwless push-in spring termination — the leg spring clamps the conductor when you push the wire in, no screwdriver needed. It accepts 14-22 AWG wire, so it covers the common control-wiring range from a 1.5 mm² power feed down to a 0.34 mm² signal return. The green PA66 housing is the standard Buchanan visual ID — easy to spot in a cabinet full of black or grey blocks.
Screwless Spring Clamp vs. Traditional Screw Terminal
The 1776259-8 uses a screwless leg-spring clamp instead of a screw-and-yoke mechanism. That means no screw torque to check, no risk of backing out under vibration, and faster wire insertion — push the stripped wire into the clamp opening and the spring holds it. The trade-off is that the spring clamp exerts a constant force on the conductor, so you cannot use a ferrule the same way as a screw terminal; stranded wire is inserted directly. The clamp material is stainless steel, so it resists corrosion in humid cabinet environments.
