Panel-Mount Terminal Strip for Fixed Wiring
The TE Connectivity 1776293-4 is a 4-circuit Eurostyle terminal strip from the TSB230 series, part of the Buchanan line. It uses a 0.315" (8.00mm) pitch between circuits — wide enough to handle 12-22 AWG wire comfortably with a screw-clamp termination on the top side. The bottom is closed, meaning this strip terminates incoming wires against a fixed barrier; it is not a feed-through block. The natural polyamide (PA66) housing carries a UL94 V-2 flammability rating, and the operating range is -35°C to 100°C.
Termination and Wiring Workflow
Wiring is straightforward: strip the conductor, insert it into the clamp opening on the top of the strip, and tighten the steel screw (zinc, non-hexavalent chromate finish). The closed bottom means the wire seats against the barrier — no pass-through to the other side. This strip accepts 12 AWG for the full 30 A load or 22 AWG for signal-level current; the installer sizes the wire to the circuit load, not the terminal rating. The 8 wire entries (4 circuits × 2 rows) allow two conductors per circuit, useful for daisy-chaining or paralleling loads.
Mounting and Enclosure Fit
Mounts to a chassis or panel — no DIN-rail foot, so the panel must have a cutout or bracket for the screw holes. The 0.315" pitch centres the circuits at a spacing that leaves room for screwdriver access between terminals, a practical consideration when the strip is inside a crowded enclosure. The -35°C to 100°C range covers unheated outdoor cabinets and equipment near heat sources.
