30 A at 8.00 mm Pitch — a Power Terminal Strip, Not a Signal Block
The TE Connectivity 1776295-3 is a 3-circuit Eurostyle terminal strip from the TSB230 series, part of the Buchanan line. It is a chassis- or panel-mount barrier strip with an enclosed barrier design — the screw terminals sit inside a polyamide (PA66) housing that prevents accidental contact with live conductors. This is a power distribution strip, not a signal-level Eurostyle block — the 30 A rating and the enclosed barrier put it in industrial control panels, motor starter cabinets, and power distribution junction boxes where the wiring needs a screw-terminated, field-serviceable connection.
The enclosed barrier means the live screw terminals are recessed inside the housing — no exposed conductor above the strip. This is the difference between a Eurostyle terminal strip and an open-barrier block: the enclosed design meets the finger-probe requirements of IEC 60529 without a separate cover. The top termination is screws, steel with a zinc, non-hexavalent chromate finish — the chromate treatment keeps the screw corrosion-resistant in a cabinet environment without the hexavalent chrome restriction. The bottom termination is closed, so the strip is not a feed-through; the wire enters from the top only, and the circuit terminates at the screw clamp. The 6 wire entries on a 3-circuit, 2-row strip means each circuit accepts two wires — one per row — which is typical for daisy-chaining power from one strip to the next. The operating temperature range of -35°C to 150°C is wide for a PA66 housing — most standard terminal blocks top out at 105°C or 125°C. The 150°C ceiling means the strip can sit inside an industrial cabinet near a motor drive, a transformer, or a heater circuit without derating the insulation.
