Press-Fit Cat5e Jack with Integrated LEDs
It terminates via press-fit — no solder — which keeps the assembly lead-free and simplifies rework on the board edge. The dual green-green LEDs give link and activity indication right on the face of the jack, so you can skip a separate LED assembly on the front panel. Cat5e certification means this jack passes the insertion loss, return loss, and crosstalk limits for 100 MHz channels — enough for 1000BASE-T and most IP camera or building-automation links. Mounting options include board edge, panel mount, and through hole, with the tab direction user-selectable — you can orient the latch up or down to match the panel cutout. The thermoplastic housing carries the standard 1-row, 1-port footprint.
Press-Fit Assembly — No Solder, No Wave
Press-fit termination eliminates the solder joint at the board — the compliant pin cold-forms into the plated through-hole, creating a gas-tight connection. That means no wave-solder step, no flux residue, and easier rework if a jack gets damaged after assembly. The trade-off is the board hole size and plating must match the press-fit pin geometry; verify the recommended hole diameter in the product drawing before layout. For a metal-front-panel design, this is the difference between passing and failing radiated emissions at 100 MHz.
