3.50 mm pitch, 3-position, push-in spring plug
The 1986692-3: This is a 3-position plug from TE Connectivity's terminal block family, pitched at 0.138" (3.50 mm). Termination is screwless push-in spring: strip the wire, push it into the clamp, and the spring holds it. Accepts 14-30 AWG (0.05-2 mm²) solid or stranded wire — no screwdriver needed, which speeds up panel wiring.
Where this plug fits in the build
Free hanging (in-line) mount with 180° wire entry — the wire enters straight into the plug body, not at an angle. This is typical for cable-to-board connections where the plug sits on the end of a harness and mates to a PCB-mounted header. Side stacking feature allows multiple plugs to be ganged side-by-side on the same header, increasing circuit count without a wider single housing. Useful when you need 6, 9, or more positions from a 3-position building block.
