Wiring and Mounting on the PCB
The 1986712-7: The through-hole mounting gives a solid solder joint for the 16 A per-circuit rating, and the 300 V working voltage suits industrial control panels and power distribution. Wire termination uses a screwless push-button clamp — push the button, insert the stripped wire (12-30 AWG), release the button, and the steel clamp grips the conductor. No screwdriver needed, which cuts assembly time on the line or in the field. The clamp material is steel; the contact plating is tin over copper alloy, adequate for the current level and typical industrial atmosphere.
It is RoHS3 compliant.
The 7-position 1986712-7 sits alongside the 6-position 1986712-6 in the same base series. The only functional difference is the number of circuits — 7 positions vs 6 — at the same 5.08 mm pitch and same 16 A / 300 V rating.
