Product details

Ribbon Cable IDC Plug for Panel Feed-Through

The TE Connectivity AMP-Latch 2-111506-1 is a 26-position IDC plug designed for mass termination to 26-28 AWG ribbon cable. This plug is terminated by pressing the ribbon cable onto the insulation-displacement contacts in a single operation — no wire stripping or individual crimping. The housing includes integral strain relief and a feed-through design, so the cable can pass through the connector body and continue to another termination point or daisy-chain to a second connector. Panel-mount tabs and latch lock/eject hooks secure the mated pair against vibration and allow tool-less unmating when service access is needed.

The IDC termination accepts standard 26-28 AWG ribbon cable with 0.100" conductor spacing. The feed-through feature lets the cable exit the connector body on both sides — useful when the connector is mounted through a panel and the cable continues to an internal board or a second connector. The strain relief grips the cable jacket to protect the IDC termination points from pull forces during handling or routing.

Mating and Panel Installation

The latch lock/eject hooks engage the header's locking ramps for positive retention; pressing the hooks releases the pair without tools. For panel-mount installations, the housing snaps into a rectangular cutout and the cable feed-through allows the ribbon to pass through the panel opening.
