26-Position IDC Receptacle for 28 AWG Ribbon Cable
The TE Connectivity AMP-Latch 2-111623-2 is a 26-position, 2-row receptacle that terminates 28 AWG ribbon cable via IDC (insulation displacement) contacts. The 0.079" (2.00mm) pitch and matching row spacing pack 26 circuits into a compact footprint — the position count is the first thing to check against your BOM line. A polarizing key on the housing ensures the cable plug seats only one way, which prevents mis-mating in multi-connector cable runs. The black housing carries a feed-through feature, letting the ribbon cable pass straight through the back of the connector for daisy-chain or pass-through wiring schemes.
Wiring and Termination — IDC with 28 AWG Ribbon
This receptacle is designed for mass-termination to 28 AWG ribbon cable using an IDC press. The two rows of contacts pierce the insulation simultaneously when the cable is pressed into the housing — no stripping, no crimping per wire. The 2.00mm pitch requires a compatible ribbon cable with the same conductor spacing. The feed-through feature lets the cable exit the rear of the connector, which is useful for pass-through or daisy-chain configurations where the signal continues to another connector down the ribbon.
