Plug Connector for Discrete Wire Harnesses
The TE Connectivity RITS 2-1473562-3 is a 3-position plug connector designed for discrete wire-to-wire or wire-to-board harness applications.
Position Count and Series Fit
This 3-position plug is the smallest member of the RITS series at this pitch. The same 0.079" (2.00mm) pitch and gold plating carry across the 4-, 6-, and 8-position siblings (2-1473562-4, 2-1473562-6, 2-1473562-8), so the footprint and contact finish are identical — only the position count changes.
Termination and Assembly
IDC termination is a press-fit process: the wire (typically 28 AWG to 22 AWG discrete wire) is inserted into the slot, and a tool pushes the contact through the insulation. The gold-plated male pin then mates with the corresponding receptacle. No crimp tool or solder iron is required, which speeds up harness assembly in low-to-medium volume builds. The free-hanging (in-line) mounting lets the plug float in the harness, reducing strain on the contacts.
