25-Position Shielded Backshell for Standard D-Sub Connectors
The TE Connectivity 2-1478762-5 is a two-piece backshell from the ADK series, designed to fit standard 25-position D-sub connectors as well as HD44-position variants sharing the same shell size B. It provides a shielded, 180° cable exit for round cable assemblies, with the metal zinc housing and nickel plating giving a continuous EMI barrier from the connector shell to the cable braid. The backshell ships with assembly hardware, grommets, and strain relief — the 4-40 mating screws are included, so no separate fastener order is needed. The grommet compresses around the cable jacket for strain relief, and the two-piece clamshell design traps the cable braid against the shell for shield continuity.
This backshell mates with any standard 25-position D-sub connector that uses shell size B. The 180° cable exit routes the cable straight out the back, which suits panel-mount applications where the cable runs directly behind the connector rather than at an angle. The included 4-40 screws are the standard thread for D-sub jack-screw retention.
