USB 2.0 Mini B Receptacle – 5 Contacts, SMT Right-Angle
It is the standard mating interface for Mini B plugs found on many portable devices, cameras, and data cables. The 1 A current rating and 30 VAC voltage rating align with USB 2.0 power delivery limits, while the gold-plated contacts and 5000 mating cycles give it a service life well beyond typical consumer USB ports — suited for industrial equipment or test fixtures where the cable gets plugged and unplugged daily.
Board Layout and Footprint
This is a surface-mount, right-angle receptacle — the solder pads and alignment pins are on the bottom of the connector, and the mating face is parallel to the PCB. The 5-contact layout follows the standard USB Mini B pinout (VBUS, D-, D+, ID, GND). The shielded shell (steel SUS304) provides EMI containment and mates with the plug's ground clip; the shield solder tabs on the PCB must be connected to the system ground plane for effective shielding.
Rated for 5000 mating cycles with gold-over-nickel contacts — that is about ten times the cycle life of a basic tin-plated USB connector. The UL94 V-0 housing is required for equipment inside a fire-rated enclosure.
