Pitch and position check for your FPC ribbon
The 2-1734592-4: This is a 24-position FPC connector on 0.020" (0.50mm) pitch — the first thing to match against your FPC cable. If the ribbon pitch doesn't line up, the contacts won't register. It's a ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) type with a slide lock actuator. The FPC slides in without force, then the slide lock clamps the contacts down. That lock holds in vibration — no secondary latch needed.
Bottom contact style: the FPC pads mate with contacts on the lower side of the connector. Confirm your FPC has pads on the correct side before soldering.
SMT right-angle mounting
Surface-mount, right-angle orientation — the connector sits parallel to the board, 0.081" (2.05mm) above it. Solder retention features help keep it in place during reflow. The natural housing and ivory actuator are standard for this series.
